Safety Focus Events
Our onboarding process consists of each employee going through a safety orientation that covers the following: Fall Protection, Ladder Safety, and Construction Safety 101.
We perform monthly meetings with our Field Foremen to go over safety procedures. Every quarter, we perform a safety stand down with all our employees and take refresher courses, and address company safety issues and concerns.
Toolbox Talks
Weekly toolbox talks give foremen and field leadership a crucial opportunity to communicate job-specific safety messages and address issues related to upcoming tasks on the project.
Establishing an honest, open, and frequent dialogue among team members on a project is critical to setting the groundwork for safe daily practices.
PCC has developed and follows safety guidelines and programs:
- Formal substance abuse prevention program
- Formal monthly safety training
- Quarterly testing on safety issues & techniques
- Aggressive return-to-work program
- Safety training & recognition programs
- Accountability for safety performance on local, regional, & national levels
- OSHA 30-hour classes required for all Foremen
- Fall protection and ladder safety courses for all field staff
- Safety department staffed with professionals in safety policies, procedures, substance abuse prevention, & workers’ compensation claims management
